For a long time, the world had concentrated so much on satisfying the needs of the ‘average’ person that the people who found themselves above or below ‘average’ were left out. This was common especially in the fashion world where most designer clothes were suited for specific body shapes and sizes and so people who were globally considered to be short or tall, skinny or fat, ended up missing out on these designer wear. Of course unless one was wealthy enough to have a designer custom make something specifically for them.
The same applied to ladies shoes whereby, the most attractive designs ranged from sizes 3 – 8, which were generally considered as the average English sizes for ladies. This left out quite a significant number of ladies who either wore size 2 or below or size 9 or above.
